Great Tacos both corn and flour available. Fish,Chicken,Beef,Pork etc that come with the excellent Riviera Salsa. Monday is Taco Night with seating in the Restaurnt, Cantina or my favorite the Patio. Great drink prices also!!!
I stopped into Riviera for lunch and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is nothing special to look at - the sign said it's been there since 1948 - but it was clean and has a homey feel. The meal started with tortillla chips and semi-spicy fresh red salsa. I didn't see anything but soft drinks on the menu, but I saw someone else having a can of beer so that's what I ordered. Not sure if they have margaritas. I ordered the "old green" chile enchiladas, which were full of, and covered by, melted cheese. I wanted more of the tang... read more
Wow. I'm surprised by all the negative reviews. On my visit, I had a good experience. Service was fun. Chips and salsa were excellent. I got the three tamale plate and loved it.
Terrible in many ways – First, I have eaten Mexican food all my life, am married to a Mexican woman, and we are NOT picky eaters. I needed to schedule a famitly get-together and decided to try this place on a whim. Called 2 days in advance and made a reservation for 16, no problem. My sister and her family showed up first and were told they don't take reservations. They put a table together for us. Service to take our drink order was promt, but it took 20 minutes for us to get our drinks (a few beers, sprites for the kids, e... read more
Best tacos on the west side of El Paso! – This is the place for consistently delicious Mexican food...beef tacos are excellent...a little too greasy... but the flavors are great. The only negative is the salsa is sometimes a little bland. Service is very good. A good place to take tourists to try out the various dishes available on the border.
PICO DE GALLO!!!!! – People who rate this resturant bad who dont live El Paso dont go to the Riviera like I do. It can be slow at times but I love the food. It has different type of Mexican food than other Mexican food places in El Paso. I deffently recomend the pico de gallo...its wonderful. I love going there!!!!
Bad food, bad service, not too great – The food was okay, definately not that great. I am not a food snob either, mexican is normally just mexican but this place ranked below taco bell. I had combination #3 and it was not good, and my wife had one of the taco dishes and ranked it average. Warning the guacamole is spicy! The only thing that was not bad was they made their own taco shells which were greasy but good. If I return to El Paso I won't return here.
