My husband and I had an excellent tour with River Reader Kayaking! We did the paddle + hike tour of the Waccamaw River and Sandy Island and enjoyed every moment. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and all of the wildlife we saw along the way. I definitely recommend taking a tour with River Reader Kayaking if you have the chance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking trip. Our guide Hasting was a professor at a local college and and was a wealth of knowledge about the river and flora/fauna in the region. Our group was 7 aging men who at our prime were quite active but are now more limited/varied in our kayaking skills. We were pleasantly surprised at how easy (and enjoyable) the kayaking was. Amazing kayak trip through the marsh! Beautiful scenery, great shell hunting, and an incredibly knowledgeable guide who made it fun and educational. Highly recommend for a unique experience!

Knowledgable and articulate about not only the river and its flora, fauna, wildlife, but the cultures that surround its history. Congenial with all ages, shares his love of the river and the sport of kayaking. Best guide ever!
