Fantastic experience! Great guide!
Knowledgable and articulate about not only the river and its flora, fauna, wildlife, but the cultures that surround its history. Congenial with all ages, shares his love of the river and the sport of kayaking. Best guide ever!
The Island, Paddle And Hike tour is a must do. Hastings has so much knowledge of the history of the area, which he was happy to share. The evidence of the wildlife on the island was amazing. First we heard the wild pigs and then saw a large pig swimming across the river. Don't see that every day. Hastings is a good communicator which made it an easy process to book the tour.
This was a great trip! Not only did we get to paddle the river and a few canals, we got to walk around on Sandy Island!
This was our second trip with River Reader, and both were incredible! Hastings is so knowledgeable and passionate about the natural history of the area. Highly recommend booking a kayak trip with River Reader. The fall colors along the Waccamaw were beautiful and the river was so serene. A much needed escape!
