Avoid at all costs! If I could give zero stars, I would. We hired and paid Jim to fix damage to our fence from a storm late this summer. He showed up to do the work, but right after coming to our home he walked over to talk to contractors working at a neighbor's house and subcontracted them to do the work. He didn't ask us if this was ok. He hired them, left our house, then texted us telling us what he did. Unfortunately, the subcontractors didn't complete the work to our satisfaction. James took about a year and a half to build a garage halfway until the city wrote me a ticket for a stop-work order. He never came back and stopped returning my calls. I got the structure inspected, and there is a significant amount of work left, assuming it can be salvaged. Unfortunately I had given him the next $20k progress payment before the stop-work order, money I will probably never see again.
