I was first diagnosed with lupus at the age of 15, and he was the one who discovered what was wrong with me when no other doctor could figure it out. I’m 34 now—so yes, that was a long time ago—but I will always have deep respect for him. He always showed me tough love. As a young girl, I remember how honest he was with me—sometimes brutally so. While Dr. Rivas Chacón may be a knowledgeable rheumatologist, my experience with his office was extremely frustrating due to his staff. They were unprofessional, unhelpful, and made the entire process of scheduling and communication a nightmare. Unfortunately, their lack of efficiency and courtesy overshadowed any potential benefit of seeing this doctor, leading me to seek care elsewhere. I hope improvements are made, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice.
