Rittenhouse Market turns my stomach The deli section is a horror show both in terms of the food they supply and the food handlers. The smells that come from the back of the store turn my stomach (even when I'm just walking by). The food is not fresh. Furthermore, the help is generally unhelpful and rude. I can't wait for a Whole Foods to open up near the Square. Maybe we'll finally get a decent market.
A nice city grocery store The Rittenhouse Market is a grocery store in the city, conveniently located just a block from Rittenhouse Square. The store is always clean and the selection is good for a city market. The prices tend to be on the high side and it can be a bit crowded at peak times. It is on of the best markets in center city if you dont have access to a car.
World Class Service at The Rittenhouse Market I am new to Center City Philadelphia after 25 years of living in the suburbs and I am very impressed with the Rittenhouse Market! I left my car in the suburbs and the only difficult errand that I have is grocery shopping. I noticed at the Rittehouse Market that they advertise a delivery service. I called and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to utilize this service. If I wanted, I could shop and have the food delivered but my son decided to throw a party at the very las... read more
What an awful place I've been going here regularly for about a year and I will never go again. I went in tonight for a quick stop and the owner of the store was asking an employee whether he was "stupid or lazy" over and over again in the same aisle that I was shopping. Rittenhouse market, you are so convenient and yet your owner is despicable. Oh well...
Will not be my go to store anymore... This market has really gone downhill the past year or so. I used to have such great experiences going there about 2 years ago but after today it was the final straw and I do not think I will be back. They clearly do not care about customers and from what I hear the also do not care about their employees. They take full advantage that they are a quick couple block walk for people in the area but I have another grocer who is only an additional 3 blocks away so I guess they will get my busi... read more
Convenient and clean This supermarket is located off of Rittenhouse Square, on 18th and Spruce (not sure why the address is showing up as 2212 Spruce). I find the prices high, but if you don't have a car and live close by, then you might as well shop here. They're deli section is actually decently priced (the section where the staff slice turkey, ham, etc for you), and their meats are good value, and they package smaller portions is you're just cooking for yourself or for a few people. The fresh produce seems pricey to me, a... read more
Bad ownership The owner is rude and arrogant! service stinks and prices are high. I am turning in my cards. I live in center city and go there all the time. We are never treated like good customers and the staff has a I don't give a .... attitude. A shame there is no competition.

Great Scot Supermarket I used to frequent this grocery store a lot when I lived on Rittenhouse Square. It was always clean and the staff always friendly and helpful. It's a decent sized grocery store right off the Square. Stop by frequently for fresh produce.
