What a gorgeous place to spend a romantic evening! As the name suggests, Rips on the Lake is a lake facing restaurant that has a gorgeous patio. While away your time as you sit here and sip on a glass of wine. The service is excellent and the staff will in no way hurry you out. The seafood here is fresh and cooked just right. The restaurant is known to serve the best oysters and shrimps. Try out the Shrimp Stuffed Baked Potato.

I have been to Rips many times and was able to order several appetizers instead of one entree to get 25 cent martinis, somehow the waiter always allowed us to do that. Tonight, we had the rudest waiter who when we asked about it, he totally shut us down. I asked him to check with the owners and apparently they said no also. Can’t figure out how if I’m ordering SEVERAL apps, how that can’t be equal to ordering ONE entree. Was VERY disappointed in tonight and the very poor customer service, both from the waiter and the owners.

So much to choose from on this menu! Tasty appetizers that had us wondering how we could eat much more, but proceeded with The stuffed catfish, Mahi Mahi topped with jumbo scallops, turtle soup so perfectly spiced, and an afternoon view overlooking the gorgeous Lake Pontchartrain.
