Truly the flavors and aromas of Italy!! It was like being in Roma! Everything authentic from the Pizza to the Gelato! A million thanks to this family run restaurant ... it feels like home. Were we having lunch in your family parlor? Yes! Without the plastic on the furniture. ♡♡♡ We will return soon.
The pizza was amazing, the cafe latte was meticulously prepared and scrumptious, the family loved the gelato, and the service was incredible. The owner, Alfredo, will make sure you have a great experience. Very clean restaurant and impeccable restrooms. Do yourself a favor, stop here!

Love this place! The owner is the sweetest man. Two of us had the mango pineapple gelato and another had the strawberry (made with strawberries grown in his own yard!). Wished I lived in SA so I could visit more then every couple of years! Also, wish I would have had time to come back and try the pizza before heading back out of town!
This place was absolutely wonderful!!! We tried the pizza (best I've had in the U.S!), the coffee, the tiramisu, and the gelato-- all amazing! We also had a great visit with the owner-- he is an incredibly kind, hospitable host. We will definitely be coming back here next time we are in San Antonio, and we highly recommend it!
Our family loves Rio de Gelato! Stopping there is a MUST every time we go downtown. The gelato is, hands down, the most delicious I have ever tried. It is so fresh and the flavors are so vibrant! If you go for the gelato, you may as well try the pizza and coffee too. The coffee is authentic, imported Italian coffee, so rich and flavorful! And the pizza! It is wonderful too! Awesome gelato but they won't let you go to the restroom until AFTER you pay. Ridiculous. How am I supposed to Hold my gelato while peeing? Owners need to take a hint that there are honest customers out there and by treating them this way they won't get return customers.
