As soon as you're able, hop on to Ricky & Mela's website and make a reservation. Having grown up in an Italian household (not far from Ellis Island) THIS is the real deal. Both Riccardo and Carmela, who both emigrated to the Tampa Bay area from Turin (Torino) Italy were gracious hosts! I felt like I was a kid again at my Nonno's table, eating Sunday dinner. Read wonderful reviews about this “ new” restaurant (was italia cafe before) in the neighborhood website , what a disappointment!! It was the worse Italian food I’ve ever had, price was way higher than I expected for a terrible food , definitely will not come back , I like to go to local restaurants but this one please don’t waste your time and money
Our first visit and everything was wonderful. The homemade pasta was a real treat, a perfect texture, and tasty. It’s so nice to see Sangiovese and Montepulciano on the menu. We will definitely return to try other menu items.
Was our first time to dine here. The food was very good! Reasonably priced true Italian, sauce was authentic pasta mixed in the sauce as true Italians do! Loved it! Will be back!
