Saturday night- The wait was long and most of the view was of 30+ people, either the back of their head or a dirty table. Not worth it if you're planning on ice cream only. Workers seemed burned out, they were trying to keep it moving! More than 1 person cashiering is a good idea. Too many people blocking entrance/exit.
My husband and I took our friends from Canada there this past Saturday and we were so embarrassed! First of all the establishment was a total disaster. Tables full of half eaten cake and trash (half eaten cake because it's crap). Staff was very rude. And portions vs price. The last couple of times we visited we noticed the portions got smaller and the cake very dry. Standards have changed and us locals will find another dessert spot. Too bad, this used to be a treasure, now it's tarnished! Good bye
Best late night dessert in Sacramento. They specialize in cakes & pies. The cafe has a very neat 50s vibe. Pokémon stops nearby if that's your thing. Parking late night isn't usually too bad, but be prepared to park parallel in the left side of J street to get primo spots.
