They impose their religious beliefs on patients. They don't seem to understand that women are worth more than their reproductive organs. When they did surgery on me they could have made it so the scar was inside my bellybutton but instead did it just below. Now everyone who sees it asks about my illness which I don't want people to know about. And I can't stress enough how upsetting it is to be told that I can't receive the medical treatment that I need because "the lord" intends for me to bear children as soon as possible. ... read more
I have seen a lot of physicians in my time. I am very picky and frequently find myself not making a return visit to a doctor (or dentist for that matter) because they do not meet my expectations. This is NOT the case with Dr. Markwood and Dr. Southerland. These doctors are amazing. I actually look forward to seeing them as I know they truly care about me. Shockingly awful experience. Attending with my fiance to review some medical information, I was insulted, threatened, and belittled. The experience began with my fiance telling me ahead of time about a sexual joke he made to her, including my profession in the very crass reference. I am an eye doctor. When I did meet him, he insulted me by refusing to shake my hand until after he embraced my finace. His second wife, with whom the hospital rumors spoke of their marriage beginning in infidelity, is a full 20 years younger than... read more
I can honestly say that Rivercrest has THE rudest staff I have ever seen. The office women are so rude. I went in yesterday for my 20 wk appointment and the girl at the desk was completely mean and unpleasant. It was suppose to be an exciting day for my family and I, and this woman had to ruin it. I accidentally said a curse word because I was so frustrated that every time I go to the DR I am treated so poorly. Love the doctors, but the office staff...eck! – I LOVE Dr. Markwood and Dr. Sutherland. Dr. Markwood has delivered both of my children. Dr. Markwood tends to be a bit old-school in that he is hesitant to try something like a VBAC, but Dr. Sutherland is supportive of that decision. I planned a VBAC with my second son; my first son was a C-section due to fetal distress. Due to some complications, however, my second son was an emergency C-section at 31 weeks. Horrible attitude with an even worse staff – His staff is rude, has lost our appointments, promised calls back for three days straight with no call backs. Dr Markwood (really a DO, not MD) is arrogant and thinks he is gods gift to everyone. He forces you to have a C-section with out any discussion, and then tells the surgery staff it was elective. Been their patient for 13yrs – I have been a patient since I was 17rs old...I have never had an issue with them. Dr. Markwood is the best. He always remembers me and we have conversations that continue from a previous appointment. He has delivered both my children and last Wednesday did my tubial. If he ever retires my next dr. will have a lot of work to do to even try to compare to Dr. Markwood. As far as Alyshia goes...she is no longer there. Treat people like scum – Very lazy rude unprofessional staff. This doctors office has the worst customer service and does not treat their sick patients with the respect they deserve.
Awesome doctors! – Dr Markwood and Dr Lucente are awesome!! They are very understanding and caring and really listen to their patients! The overall staff at the office are amazing with one exception but toucan be the judge of that. I would recommend these dr's to all of my friends and family!
