No long wait for getting an appointmen. Short waiting room time. Friendly staff. Dr Neil’s takes time to explain things in layman terms. Didn’t feel like I was being herded in or out.
I've visited Dr. Neils many times over the past 25+ years. He knows skin conditions and has helped me through the issues I've had. I like his no nonsense attitude and efficiency of taking care of skin issues. I tried another dermatologist for a while since they had newer blue light therapy that I wanted to try but it didn't work. I'm back to seeing Dr. Neils. He tells it like it is and takes care of it on the spot.
We live in a society that wants to be coddled. We don't put enough emphasis on experience and efficiency. Would you rather see a doctor that can diagnose your condition within minutes or a new grad that needs 10 tests before coming to that same conclusion? I guess what I'm trying to say is if you want a doctor that'll kiss your boo-boo before putting on the bandaid, Dr. Neils isn't for you. If you'd like facts, a diagnosis and a treatment, he's the guy to go to.
I had gone to Dr. Neils approximately 10 (?) years ago, he is extremely efficient-no nonsense- and saved any embarrassment with any summer outfits I might have had in mind! I had a cyst/comedone in the middle of my back. At one point a nurse actually told me "You really should have that taken care of" - this was in 1991. I did eventually go to a different dermatologist in Oconomowoc who stated it would probably eventually go away and so I felt it would. Well it did not, expanded and I ended up giving it the title of "Old Fai... read more
I like the way Dr. Neils checks over previous skin issue areas and quickly assess anything he notices new. His process is very professional and efficient.
Has the personality as a Rattlesnake. His attitude is Shut Up And Listen To Me. Your Stupid Never go back. Does not care to here you and is no thorough at his job either. Has no time for you.
Dr. Neils diagnosed my child with frost bite. The week my child had symptoms was a warm week. Dr. Neils refused to hear me out and ended the visit within ten minutes or less. Now other children at school have the same symptoms so it was clearly not frost bite.
No compassion, acted as if we were inconveniencing him with questions so basically did not answer. Needs to do the community a favor and retire. Would give zero stars I could.
There's a reason you have to wait months to see some doctors, while others (i.e. Dr. Neils) can be seen in a matter of hours. I saw him as a third opinion, and requested a very minor skin test—one which had yet to be performed, and takes only minutes to complete. He didn't want to do this, so he scoffed, and got angry. He begrudgingly began to proceed, and I sincerely said, "Thank you." He ignored me. He's a grumpy man, that's always available if you're in a rush. Staff is great, though!
