I just took a hand to hand defense class here and it was a wonderful and informative experience! The staff are all very friendly, helpful, fun and I felt welcomed. Highly recommend checking this place out!
I can't express my deepest gratitude for this place of healing. My therapy journey started a few years ago and almost a year go it brought me here to reviving roots. I can’t overstate how excited I was when I first found this place. The receptionist told me there was a waiting list, but that they typically call back within two months at most. When two months passed, I called to check my status only to be told they had no record of me and that I needed to submit the intake form again. I was disappointed, but knowing how difficult it is to find a Black therapist in this area, I went ahead and filled it out a second time. Absolutely love this place! It feels like home. Very warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in. You're greeted with a warm smile that feels like a hug. Cool spots to sit, work and relax! I feel very welcome and like I belong here. It's so refreshing to come to a place where I feel comfortable and like I belong. And also, cool tunes playing in the background as you work adding that soulful feel to the place. The greeting at the door even says “ You belong here”. Reviving Roots is located in a beautiful location of the city, their space is very professional, yet also warm and welcoming. They provide all the services that I need for my self-care - therapy, different classes like yoga and massages all in one spot! They are also adding a book club soon too! They specialize in caring for African-Americans so I feel like I fit in whenever I'm here!
