This area in midtown (with the close of Diablo on M and Lily's on 21st to far away) has terrible coffee choices. Retrospect has great coffee and very friendly employees. The prices are good and the products are better. It's amazing this place isn't over-run in the morning.

Had a really good drinks here, suggest you try a Turkish coffee if you want something new, otherwise the espresso drinks are prepared well. Surprised that they have paleo-compatible snacks here once in a while too (you can see them on the specials board when available).

Today was my first time visiting Retrospect. I was excited to try the newly-opened coffee joint, but left under-caffeinated and disappointed. While the staff were friendly, they were kinda slow on the up-and-up and the coffee was W-E-A-K. I took a look around the place and although the furnishings and flooring are dark stained and lovely, the pastry display was a bit of an eye-sore.
