RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL I was on the phone with Retina Consultant of Hawaii three times today. First, when I called, the receptionist kept telling me on the phone loudly that she could not hear and then hung up on me. Ok, sometimes bad connection happened so I called them again. Second time I called, a different person picked up my call and I let her know that I would like to follow up to see whether her office received a referral document from my insurance company. Dr. Wee basically killed my eye. I went in for a relatively minor issue and because of his lack of interest in helping, his poor skills as a surgeon and poor communication skills, the small issue became a major one- a retinal detachment and then eye death. He performed two surgeries, neither of which was successful, and at the end he said that I should just "get used" to not having vision in my left eye. My eye is now dead (phthisis bulbi).
