1833 is one of my favorite restaurants in Monterey! Food delicious, ambiance fabulous, and really professional staff!
First time here and was amazed. All the staff were attentive. They took us on a tour of the house and gave some history. While it is classy and detailed, you feel comfortable lounging in your street clothes. I will recommend and return.
The owners and team at 1833 create unbelievable experiences!!! The food, vibe, service etc...... All outstanding.
Horrible. .. I made reservations a month ago for my wife's 50th birthday. Just got a call from them saying they're going to be closed that weekend.... WTF ? Why take the reservation? Then the gal had the nerve to ask the "next time" we want to come in... Are you F'ng kidding me? Thought this would be a special night for her, I guess I'll ask her if she wants to wait to celebrate! What a joke.
As we walked through the fire pit lit courtyard, I knew we had chosen something special. Restaurant 1833 lights up all five senses with a sensual ambiance, hand crafted cocktails and a well executed menu. The experience left me wanting to see, smell, taste & touch everything all over & over again. I strongly recommend James for any and all recommendations. Thank you for a most memorable evening!
