I was unpleasantly surprised at the price gouging that's currently ongoing at this Marriott location. I have stayed at this hotel several times before and have checked in early on previous occasions and was never charged for checking in 2 hours early. This time there was a fee of $40.00 to check in early. I have stayed at Marriott hotels for 30 years of my life (Bonvoy member) and this was absolutely the 1st time that this has happened. Zero privacy with the bathroom door. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re staying with someone else. You can see everything.

Great central Gaslamp location, perfect for walking around. Large buffet breakfast. Pool is very small. All rooms have kitchens and comfortable beds.

The refrigerator in my room looked like someone had taken a hammer to the freezer door.(see photos). I was woken up in the middle of the night several times by a party going on In another room. I was told by staff that I should’ve called security. Lastly, there was no hot water for my shower the next morning.. I have stayed here before, but this time it was extremely disappointing.
