Recently stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott Norfolk Downtown. The spacious suite offered a two-bedroom, two-bath layout, a full-size refrigerator, stovetop, and separate living area at a good price (compared to comparable hotels in the area) that was especially convenient for our 5-day, 4-night stay. Location in terms of other activities along the river front is ok, not the best but ok. As a positive, it's close to Scope Arena. Service is good. I had an issue with the room television where it wouldn't turn on. A service tech was sent to fix it while I was out of the room. When I returned I found the tv was working but the remote was not. So a tech had to come out a second time but it issue was fixed. Lastly, the room and hotel in general is in need of renovation. It's holding up but it's age is showing.

The worst service ever!! Told me my room was on occupied and clbe ready at 1 . It wasn't ready at 5pm then they said I didn't have a reservation. My nurse was very upset. I just came out of hospital for stroke. The Marriott is going down hill.
