We used Rennasant Bank for our home build. My wife and I did a lot of the work ourselves so it took a little longer than normal. We were not informed by the VP that if we went past 18 months that our single close construction to conventional loan would no longer be available. So not only did we pay the cost upfront but now we have to pay closing cost again if we want the lower rate that should be available to us for free.
Underwriting process was incredibly unprofessional. Be prepared for underwriters to repeatedly ask for information and documents that have already been supplied, random documents that are unrelated, arbitrary documents you likely don't have, etc. In our case, as one example, the underwriter wanted me to prove I had sold a rental property years in the past. Our process included 7 rounds of document requests - many of them I supplied 2 or 3 times. Worst mortgage experience ever.
THE WORST when it comes to mortgage lending. Bad customer service and a SCAM!!!!
