REI charges full retail price on everything, and you can often find better deals directly on manufacturer websites than here. As a lifetime member, I can say their return policy to be inconsistent and frustrating It really depends on the manager’s mood that day. If your return isn’t accepted, you may have better luck trying a different REI location.
Worst REI I've been to in terms of customer service. My son and I went because he needed a new pair of hiking boots. There were three employees standing around talking near the shoes, but no one bothered to ask if we needed help. Then they all walked off. We were able to stop a female employee who walking by. She was gone for the longest time looking for the boots. She finally returned with the boots and said if we needed any help to let her know. Then she disappeared and we never saw her again. Employees were always around to help but weren't pushy. Nice selections.
So for bike repairs I’d recommend Basalt Bike and Ski REI quoted me like $200 in “repairs” and I went to Basalt Bike and Ski in Carbondale and they tuned it up for free I threw a bunch of paper dollars in their tip bowl. Anyways that’s just my experience n opinion but what do I know. Peace.
Favorite place to go! Parking is usually good and is free if you are in and out in 30 minutes i think.
