The sales associate took a sweeping look at me and told me that I should wait for my friend to teach me about carabiners, quickdraws etc and walked away. As if ppl my size couldn’t be climbers.

RecommendedLooking for new Hokas or Altras. Never had either brand. Lots of learning and good assistance to do so in the Women’s Runners and Hiking area. I had two sales associates who did a tag team with me because there were so many customers shopping. They both helped my husband and me simultaneously. I ended up with two new pairs of shoes, one ordered on line to insure the perfect fit. I need to come to the down town store more often! RecommendedAt least 3 times the size of our usual store in Cincinnati, hence 3 times as likely for us to impulse buy! Had to return an air mattress that had a faulty valve and everyone at the place was very professional and thoughtful, despite the fact that we were lax in reading the fine print. We already spend too much $ at REI, but the customer service at this one ensures that we are customers for life. Plus, they have a waterfall! How cool is that!?
