I would love to give RNAO a rating of negative 200. What is the racial demographic of the RNAO? Why won't they release such crucial information? The RNAO is hypocritical for marching at Jobs Justice and Climate but not actually doing any action that addresses the employment issues of nurses: racism at work and in hiring practices, workplace abuse, double shifts, lack of mentors to new nurses. These are all promises given to nurses but none have been dealt with in Ontario in a way that has been felt by all nurses.
The RNAO does nothing to help racialized nurses from systemic racism in their careers. RNAO was willing to protest an MTV show about nurses to maintain respectibility politics in the profession's image. The RNAO marched in Jobs Justice and Climate rally this year in July. I'd like to see the RNAO do real action to protect and represent fairness for the racialized nurses by swiftly denouncing racism and doing more to encourage the employment of racialized nurses. If I could give a 0, I would. Disappointed in the lack of support for care coordinators on strike in Ontario. RNAO is supposed to represent a broad spectrum of nurses. CCAC does require improvement but it should involve the front line staff who work within the system making the recommendations. The work is complex, not easily understood unless you have worked within homecare for a couple of decades to understand the history & politics surrounding home care in Ontario.
Very disappointed in RNAO's lack of support for and knowledge of the vital role of CCAC Care Coordinators.
U teachers out there Tim Hudac will not be firing teachers as per said by unions.
