I went to check in last night, and this is the room they tried to give me. The moment I walked in, I noticed a cockroach—already a bad sign. When I opened the mini fridge to put away some drinks, 20 to 30 cockroaches came running out. I turned around to the bed, and to my shock, I saw bed bugs crawling toward my briefcase that I had just set down. Absolutely Disgusting Experience – Avoid This Hotel I recently stayed at the Red Roof Inn & Suites Newark - University, and it was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The first room we were given (Room 195) had water leaking from the ceiling directly above the bed. The toilet seat was broken on one side, making it unsafe to use. We were moved to another room (Room 159), which was somehow even worse. Just don't stay there. It was dirty and dilapidated. The ceilings in our rooms were crumbling and leaking blood red water. Something was leaking on the floor. How is this place not closed by the authorities? My bedspread had something unidentifiable and they were not going to replace it until I left. The sink ran the whole time and I kept getting pinched on the toilet seat. It is right up near the hightway and noisy. Ok not their fault. My stay wasn’t too bad but I definitely didn’t like when I turn the shower on, all this black stuff came out ! I was definitely disgusted so I called front desk right away and he said he’ll give me a discount on my room! I booked the king room with jetted tub! When I got inside, you can tell everything is outdated! If you’re there for just one night like I did. then you’ll be ok. Bring cleaning products as well. Wasn’t they best hotel stay but I enjoyed the peace and quiet . STAY SAFE!
