This is a hidden gem! If you make it to this part of the country you must stop in!
This place is unique and amazing! Off the beaten path and worth the drive from anywhere to experience. This is a 1920's general store that was moved from 20 or so miles away. Completely renovated and added onto. This local family owned restaurant/bar/live music venue did not miss a beat on renovations. Great food and friendly servers with a super small Texas town vibe! Been here about a dozen times and haven't had a bad experience yet.
We decided to give it another try after our last miserable meal. I have guests from overseas,and the place is so cute.... Our server was good. A positive change from last time. On scale of one to ten, the food was about a 3. How do you screw up a Cobb salad? I gave the salad a 3 because the lettuce seemed fresh. I cannot say the same for the mashed avocados or gray egg. Blue cheese was flavorless. Overall disappointing. My onion rings were good. My sisters chicken was too overcooked and tough to eat. My dog enjoyed it....
The chicken fried steak was awesome, the veggies had a good flavor off the grill. A very nice atmosphere. And the Goat Ropin outside was fun.
Food is great and priced well. Nice atmosphere and all the servers really try hard to provide great service.
Service GREAT...even though we got there at 930��� Steak was perfect Will be back!
This is by far the best steakhouse in the Bastrop area!
Great food, incredible service (where else do they ask you to make sure your steak is cooked correctly, then wait while you confirm?), and the setting is charming. Buttermilk pie next time!!
