Had heard many great things about the place but other than the atmosphere food was just okay and service was horrible. Margaritas were average. Might give another try maybe off night
The Red Mesa Cantina is a beatiful resteraunt. I attended their tequila tasting. Their knowledgeable staff guided us thru the tasting. This place is a must see if you want incredible food or a amazing cocktail. Oh yeah, be sure to check out their bar. This place is pretty neat. Eat indoor or out. Their friendly staff is there to make your stay a memorable one. Be sure to get a Margarita.
Just apps but delicous,can't wait to get back to St.Pete so can stay for entrees.Service was outstanding!
I love Red Mesa Restaurant and Red Mesa Mercado but for some reason I don't like Red Mesa Cantina. I've been to all three locations, numerous times. RM is the only place I want to eat. Ask anyone who knows me. But the Cantina is my least fave. Sangrias are ridiculously small and don't taste as good as other two locations. Could just be me. But, this location doesn't thrill me much.
We really enjoyed our cucumber Margaritas. My friend enjoyed the duck quesadilla. I had the shrimp dish. It was excellent. We hope to return someday soon.
This is the only place I can find fish tacos served in CORN tortillas. Very authentic! Every other place served them in flour tortillas - no burning! I was pleased with the server and the food is always excellent! Just wish the tortilla chips were complimentary. They aren't so I don't get them.

When in Tampa, my friends Jim and Paula always treat me to Sunday brunch at Red Mesa... it always delights me with the savory breakfast fare and chilled champagne.
