When I'm driving to Stowe, VT, one of my favorite stops is The Red Hen. Great coffee and their food is the real deal!
Every loaf is a masterpiece. Please stop by the bakery if you get the chance. If not, you can get it at healthy living after you pick up some local cheese ;)
Is this my favorite bakery? One of the very best! Their bread is my absolute favorite. Their coffee is excellent. Their pastries are awesome--I love their cookies. Great breakfast sandwiches and soup. Nice little grocery/special items section too--great for gifts. Such a great place!
There needs to be a Red Hen bakery and café in every town in America.... Great soups, Euro-style breads, sandwiches, Panini's, and also classy cooking ingredients like olive oils for sale. Nice counter people too...and there is a picture window to the bakery so you can watch all the bread shaping etc.
Obviously I picked the right place! Just visiting the area and found this along the roadside. Parking lot was full and they were running out of ingredients for sandwiches. Service was friendly and pleasant and very accommodating as we put together a sandwich with what ingredients were available! Service with a smile and got a cookie to off-set the sandwich I couldn't get. Nice atmosphere. Hung out for a bit to take care of some biz on interent and well, do this post. Highly recommend.
Congrats on the "Champion of Change" award - Randy George is the best boss ever!!! Big Thanks for the time I got to spend at the Hen!!
