Ralph Brennan, of the city's well-known restaurant clan, owns this casual, high-energy grill. This festive atmosphere holds true to the city it inhabits. A large central dining room is surrounded on three sides by banquettes, and a huge oyster bar is covered with images of the seafood that is also the focus of the menu. The kitchen produces a delicious barbecue shrimp po'boy, seafood gumbo with nuggets of alligator sausage and baked oysters on the half shell. The signature dessert is a variation of bananas foster.

It Made Our Trip – We decided to try this restaurant on the advice of online reviews and recommendations from the hotel staff where we stayed. We ordered red fish and grilled res snapper. Both dishes had generous portions and were well prepared and extremely tasty. Do yourself a favor and save room for the double chocolate bread pudding. I woke up the next morning still thinking about it! The wait staff was well groomed, courteous, prompt and extremely helpful because we are unfamiliar with cajun and creole cooking. We plan ... read more
Best Dessert – The food and service was excellent but they have the best Chocolate Bread Pudding I have ever had. It's absolutely decadent and must be ordered when ordering your food. It's made with white and dark chocolate and is served hot. It's served with two sauces, a white and a dark chocolate ganache. It is definitely for chocolate lovers!
Among the best in town for seafood – A must go when in New Orleans. Room is large and there is a great bar with well made drinks at fair prices. If you can get a seat at the bar while waiting for your table consider ordering appetizers, the bartender did not offer them but they are available. They cannot carry over the tab to your table but not a big deal. Fish is the best available and I will return next time I am in town.
The best! – This is by far the best seafood restaurant around. I wish we had one in Boston!
Always on my list – Bit of a wait without reservations, but worth it. The drinks were strong, the food delicious and the waiters wereyummy. Headed back this summer.
Great Food! – I love this place. Try the Oysters 3 Ways and the Double Chocolate Bread Pudding is to die for. Great Service. Great Bar. Strawberry Daquiri was the best I have ever had.
Yuppy, but yummy – We loved the food, the wine and the service. The place, however, was packed to the gills - pun intended! Upon entering, your name is placed on the wait list and you're told it will be "about an hour". Then you are on your own. If you can find a seat, the bar is fun. When we checked back, after about 45 minutes, we were told to go into the dining room and check in with them. This went on for awhile, until we were finally seated - due to constantly putting ourselves in their faces! Once we got a table, it wa... read more
Yum yum! – You wouldn't think of it, necessarily, but Red Fish Grill may just have the best burger on Bourbon Street! It's ground in house, I am sure, which makes it so much better. I'd take that burger over another any day!
Good lunch, value for money! – We had lunch here, couldn't be better. Nice menu, good food. Especially recommanded: oysters with blue cheese dip. Friendly service, not overdone. We had diner in K.Paul's, good food too,but much higher prices. If I had to choose I would go back for diner to the Red Fish.
