very disappointing – I have yet to find a decent chinese restaurant in Raleigh. I can't comment on everything on the Red Dragon menu, but I can say that the "Sesame Chicken" tastes like chicken hunks in ketchup. Well, I guess that is better that bark hunks in ketchup. I like ketchup A LOT! but not when it is supposed to be sesame chicken... Also, like every other chinese place I have been to in Raleigh, the Red Dragon's Chicken and Broccoli is in one of those light sauces that turn to glue when it gets cold and no microwave ... read more
Tighten Up !!! You're Slipping !!! – I've eaten at the Red Dragon for years and loved it. Over the last year, I have seen a decline in the quality of the food and the size of the take out servings and I no longer patronize them.
Not impressed – My bro-in-law highly recommends their take out, but after trying it twice, I'm just not impressed. Everything was too greasy and usually overcooked. The General Gau's was awful--too shriveled and no nuance to the flavor. Perhaps this is authentic Chinese, but it seemed more like a deep-fried Southern take on everything.
Very impressive! – When I moved to Raleigh from San Francisco, I thought I wouldn't be able to find any authentic Chinese food here! However, this Chinese restaurant really impressed me, their food , service and the atmosphere are great! I think this is the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Raleigh. It worst to try !
Madarin Chicken – Decent food at average prices. Basically about 9 bucks per entree. Most dishes I've had there are good... not great, but good. In my opinion, the best dish is the Mandarin chicken. If you're a fan of Sesame and/or General Tso's chicken like I am, you'll love it. All white meat chicken and great sauce. I used to live in Chapel Hill and I'd drive all the way to Raleigh to get it... it's that good.
Great Little Place! – Nice and quite atmosphere in a nice neigbourhood. The food was good and the service friendly. Parking is kinda tricky along this intersection and street.
It's All Good! – Absolutely, the best Chinese food I've ever had. I frequently visit Red Dragon and have tried several new items simply because everything else I've had there rocks and it's all good! I thought Neo China was the best, now I don't even consider it for take-out because Red Dragon has that too! Don't mention PF Chang around me or feel the wrath of my "over-priced, trendy crap" rant.
Don't bother – Just moved here from the West Coast. Tried Red Dragon based on "Top 10" recommendation here. Another mistake under the Reader's Top 10. Bland seasoning, skimped on chicken content of entree, and very greasy egg rolls. Never again...........
I LOVE IT!!! – We happened upon Red Dragon by accident and fell in love. We've never had a bad experience there... the food is always wonderful! Their Egg Drop soup is the best I have ever had, and their Spring Rolls are out of this world.
