Switched to Dr Rau in 2017 after my physician told me that he was not accepting my insurance any longer and that he was ready to retire. I should have made this change years earlier as this (younger) doctor recommended several good changes in the medicines and supplements I was taking. Seen Dr. Rau just under a couple years. Told me on more than 4 Dr visits that he couldn't help me no more. Very inconsiderate of him to do such a bad thing to a patient. I don't understand how a doctor could tell a patient that he can't help them no more. I have it recorded on tape. I told him I record all our sessions because I have PTSD and I forget a lot. And when I listen to the tapes I hear him say that he can't help me no more and it hurts. It's just really unprofessional. I hope John Rau can try to help a little more ... read more

Just wow, what an inconsiderate doctor. He completely wrote off everything I said and denied me when I asked for a list of possible other medications so I could do some research to get a better idea of what I felt comfortable with. He said maybe stop trusting people online and trust a professional and began tauntingly pointing his finger at himself... That’s not at all professional behavior. I am thoroughly impressed with Dr. Rau. I went through numerous doctors to find one that I could at least tolerate. Dr. Rau has been a Godsend. He's a doctor that I feel completely comfortable with and one that doesn't seem to push an agenda. His ideas of preventative medicine are spot on and he's one of the few doctors that I've ever respected for his approach toward health and medicine. I would highly recommend him if you're looking for someone to keep you healthy. Mind, body and spirit.

Dr.Rau is an excellent doctor. Very thorough, and doesn't rush through a visit. Always takes care of our family! I highly recommend Dr.Rau.

Very inconsiderate/rude. Basically told me he thought I was crazy and told me I was wrong about what I thought I was feeling. He told me that the only reason he even addressed my concerns in the first place was because I was quote "freaking out". At that point, he told me I should go on anxiety medication and he could talk to me again in a few months. Went to another doctor who was a specialist, and that doctor said I needed surgery. The staff at this office are also very rude.

worst doctor I have encountered in my life. He has 0 interest in his patients. I wouldn't recommend John Rau to anyone. If you are paying for a service at least go to the doctor where you feel welcomed. His nurse called me and was extremely rude and was screaming at me. when I asked her not too scream at me she replied by said sweetheart you would know if I was screaming at you. I have had it with them I have also reported this issue. Never going back there!

I had bronchitis. He told me to come back if I couldn't walk 5 to 6 feet without stopping to get my breath. On my 3rd visit because I was still sick, he told me he didn't know what to do for me and walked out of the room. I would never go back and never recommend him.
