A big thumbs up for Healthgrades for not being paid off to drop negative reviews. I have tried in vain to post a review on RateMD about Dr. Solomon, but even though I was a patient in Dr. Solomon's practice when I was being treated by his NP, my reviews have been deleted or not published at all. Dr. Solomon, rather than spending money trying to protect your reputation, why not use that money to provide cutting edge treatment to patients who cannot afford your rates. Break down those barriers!!
I finally found a path with Island Psychiatry and Dr Solomon. For years I have struggled with bad depression and maybe some hypo-mania. Some years were pretty good so I went off meds. This happened 3 times before I saw Dr. S. He was the first one to really explain things to me. He didn't focus so much on a diagnosis and made me realize that I was not a walking talking form of mental illness. Even though I think I need to be on meds forever I now have kind of accepted it and don't feel bad about

Very rude office. Told me i need 3 visits in order to receive a refill of the medication I've been on for years. Mary beth the office manager wouldn't give me her name or employee ID because she knew she was being very nasty to me but i heard the receptionest call her by name. She would talk over me by raising her voice every time i tried to ask a question. if your thinking about going, find another dr.
This is the only place where you can get really good treatment with respect and not feel completely crazy. Dr. Solomon listens and takes you seriously. He tells you the hard stuff and helps you through it. He knows his stuff when it comes to meds and has helped me greatly.
With all due respect Dr. Solomon the rules of this site state that anyone who has had "contact" with you is permitted to submit a review. You did a mandatory evaluation on me over a year ago. My crime was alcoholism. I am not a monster. I have a disease that cost me my job and my family. I do not blame you for my losses. However, I do hold you accountable for the way you treated me during the interview. You tore me apart. Exposed every weakness. Used my fear against me. And got paid for it.
He treats both me and my daughter for the last few years. Place has grown recently and they got another practice. Had some trouble getting through for a problem with my meds but alls well now. Keep up the good work Doc!
My son receives treatment for ADHD at Island Psychiatry. It is such a warm, caring and private space. Everyone there is so committed to putting patients first. I commend Dr. Solomon for taking on challenging mandatory employee and teacher evaluations to support our students. My son was actually abused by a teacher and was found unfit to teach. Thankfully despite these negative reviews, people like Dr. Solomon will keep providing a safe haven for our children.
