We went out to the nursery and the gate was locked. I contacted them through FB messenger and Benito Trevino met us at the gait. He is a very knowledgeable and humble man. He spent about an hour with us talking passionately about his trade and nature. We wanted to buy plants but he suggested we not as it’s not the right season to plant. He educated us on many topics. We will be going back in October. Can’t wait to stay in the casitas.
We ended a wonderful 2 week birding trip to Texas with a two night stay at the Casitas at Rancho Lomitas. Our stay was FABULOUS! The casitas are wonderful- spacious, clean, comfortable, and outfitted with everything a guest needs! We regret that we did not book more nights there. Toni was a wonderful hostess- checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Benito led a fantastic native plant tour. His enthusiasm for ethnobotany is contagious!
