Dr. Ashour has an excellent communication manner that relieves concerns and prepares patients and family members for the upcoming surgery.
Dr Ashour is thorough, patient and willing to take time to answer any and all questions which instilled confidence and comfort with his performce and knowledge. He is direct and honest. My immediate post surgery visit was brief but my 6 week follow-up confirmed my impressions. His nurses and support staff are caring and supportive.
Dr. Ashour provided extensive knowledge on what happen in my Stroke and the next steps moving forward. His bedside manner was very easy to discuss back and forth with me and my wife. I feel I’m in a good hands moving forward.
Great surgeon who explains treatment options in detail with examples. Takes time and care to treat patients. One of the best MD’s I have seen ever.

On August 12th, during a CT scan for an unrelated issue, there was an accidental finding of a very large aneurysm on my Basilar artery. Someone recommended Dr. Ashour. When I contacted his office, they advised me to go to the ER. I did. Dr. Ashour performed an angiogram for better imagining, then did the procedure on the aneurysm. Had a rare aneurysm, very explanatory. Kind has lots of time for you just not rush you out of his office a very caring heart cannot say enough kind words for Dr. Ashour. He is a blessing. Dr Ashour was available within weeks after I returned from vacation with a coiled ruptured aneurysm. I was vacationing in Spain when the rupture occurred and wasn’t sure what to expect when I returned to Austin. Dr Ashour took time to explain next steps and answered all of my questions along the way. Dr. Ashour is the only neurosurgeon I fully trust other than Dr. David Baskin(Methodist Houston, TX) He listens, never gives the "15 minute" humiliating visits which I've experienced in my 34 years of pain, neglect and degradation.
