I am so glad I didn't give up on Ralph Johnson VA. I think the world of my diabetic provider, she is tops. She answers all of my questions and explains everything to me. All the staff are so nice!!
Dr Smith the neurologist is awesome. His personality and bedside manner are top notch. The treatments he gives me work well too.
The phrase "Close Enough for Government Work” and presence of a “Self-Licking Ice Cream Cone” atmosphere at VA Medical Centers is compulsive, but also a surrounding element within the VA system itself. My experience warrants a critical review of the VA Medical System, especially concerning “Specialty Care" and treatments that require advanced expertise. While the VA has improved in the past decade, and at times, provides good standard "Primary-Care" for Veterans, it's much less equipped to deliver advanced comprehensive care... read more
