I would never trust this company in my home. I was behind one of the service vans today during high traffic times in a RESIDENTIAL area. The entire time their employee was tailing vehicles, including a motorcyclist, swerving on single lane road to attempt to pass, abruptly changed lanes last second while harassing another driver, and was hanging out the window screaming at drivers. Radon System Service - Mixed Experience I had my radon mitigation system serviced by RDC in February 2023. While the system successfully maintains low radon levels, the overall experience was disappointing. Initial Service Issues (February 2023): The primary complaint was system noise. Radon Detection & Control, LLC installed a mitigation system in my home in 2019. To be fair, it has functioned properly ever since. In order to maintain the warranty, it is necessary to perform an AccuStar long-term test annually. This makes sense, and I have done so every year and reported the results to Radon Detection & Control. This year (2024), Radon Detection & Control said that it is necessary to purchase the kit directly from them in order to maintain the warranty. I had my system serviced in February 2023, and I have to say that in hindsight the work was sub-par. The main problem was I complained the system was noisy. They replaced an aging fan and improved the code compliance of the system (but did not completely fix it and broke it in their own ways, see below), but they did not put enough clamps to the house, they did not use a good noise-isolating kind of clamp, and eventually left with the system still being noisy with a shrug "there's nothing we can do." If your concerned about radon I highly recommend Radon Detection & Control. When my house was the tested the reading were really high 20 to 40pCi/L, now they are 1.7pCi/L, I am very pleased with Radon Detection & Control. I would like to thank John Mallon most of all for being a great guy with the best radon removal company in the Pittsburgh area.
