We wanted a reasonably priced hotel in downtown Duluth- VERY HARD to find. We were looking mid week and walkable to Canal Park. The Radisson fit the bill! First it was the only one once taxes were added that it was UNDER $200 (about $20 under). Second, the Radisson is very walkable. Easy to get to the Depot Museum- right across the street. This place appears to be in a Downward Duluth Death Spiral. Lack of business and attraction in the city, results in low demand for hotel rooms, leads to low revenue for hotel leads to understaffed, smelly and outdated carpets and fixtures a rotating restaurant that shuts down service occasionally. Who wants to pump millions to update a hotel no one needs to go to? On the plus side the people who do show up to work here are all competent, devoted and friendly. Plenty of covered parking. Downtown location.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The first night the shower did not drain and asked the front desk the next day to fixed it while we adventured out. We went to back to the room and the water was still sitting. Immediately we called the front desk and they offer a new room despite it was late Friday night. The first night both elevators worked but only one worked the next night and morning.
