I called Radar Recovery Center because I am actively seeking detox after a recent slip following eight years of sobriety. I temporarily have Medi-Cal instead of the private insurance I previously carried, so I asked whether they accept Medi-Cal or offer any scholarships. The website description and actual facility in San Diego are polar opposites. Their phone system is awful. Always cutting out, and leaves no voicemail when they call you. I understand that they're talking through their computers. For $30,000 a month at minimum I expect a decent phone system. Also, know that when your lived on is there, they put an ankle bracelet on them. In addition, you are only allowed to talk with your loved one two times a week. I went in for a 7oh addiction detox. Awful experience, I almost left during the check in process, i wish I had. I do not believe the good reviews. Nursing staff could not be less friendly. You only see a doctor on Zoom, The doctor literally apologized to me for the way the nurse staff treated me. My advice, do not go here !!!!
Truth be told, when I first got there I was thinking what am I doing here?!? Did I make a mistake? I was in such a low in my life I don’t think I would be here today if I had not made the call. Trust me YES it is terrifying to admit that I was powerless to my addiction and without the help of such an amazing staff and nurses, I was in the right place at the right time. This place was great. The staff was very caring my favorite nurse Tiesha took very good care of me. When I didn’t want to stay, my favorite Tech gentry came after me. If you’re looking to start your life clean, this is a great place to start.
