Dr. Leland is a great Doctor! I have been with her both of my pregnancies. I am currently 32 weeks in my 2nd pregnancy. She referred me to MFM both pregnancies when she felt it was needed, and she always listens to my concerns & addresses them appropriately despite her having a very busy schedule. The other providers I’ve seen during my pregnancies (NPs and PA, PA student) all very kind & thorough as well. Dr Leland is amazing , she is such a compassionate provider and absolutely saved my daughter’s life during delivery. My middle baby had a shoulder dystocia and Dr Leland got her out in 30 seconds , I am in SD support groups and most docs can’t get a baby out that fast , my daughter is alive because she knew exactly what to do. Reading a lot of these reviews it clear that a lot of the negative reviews were from lack of medical literacy on the writers part. Dr.Leland has always had great bedside manner with me, even compared to my higher standards as a nurse I can say that Dr.Leland was very thorough and straightforward with my care. I had a high BMI during pregnancy and she explained the literature of risks which is what she is required to do as an MD. I agree with the reviews saying she comes across as cold and dismissive. I had acute pain and she dismissed it, ordered tests, and then her office wouldn’t explain them. I came here because she was a specialist in my diagnosis. She may be the reason I decide to leave Community altogether.
This doctor gives a very cold bedside manner. We had the unfortunate series of events leading to being put in her care for delivery due to my wife's OB being on holiday. To put the experience with Dr. Leland into a phrase: It was like she considered my wife and baby as cattle, inconveniencing her on Thanksgiving weekend.
