I enjoyed my first stay at Qupqugiaq. I'm a lifelong Alaskan and knew what to expect from this unique inn. The room was clean and comfy, the water was hot, and as a woman alone, I felt safe. All this at a bargain price!

I stayed in one of the hotel's "pods" which was tucked on the side of the hotel. The pods were sort of like a hostel and shared a communal living room, which was a little messy when I stayed there, but it didn't matter to me. "Pod people" also share a kitchen and bathroom. It was a little cluttered-looking with everyone storing things in communal rooms, but I feel like that should be expected if you're staying in a hostel. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful. They found me an extra blanket when I asked for one, and w... read more

I was only interested in a place to lay my head--real reason to be in Anchorage is for sightseeing etc The place was very basic but clean. Bed comfortable. The hotel is in an industrial/commercial area, but didn't seem unsafe. Hotel staff was not always knowledgeable, but tried to be helpful For the price I got what I was expecting--as everything else in area was twice the cost here.

The hotel is relatively cheap, and the staff is friendly and helpful. With breakfast and usable internet. Only issue is the shared bathrooms, which I feel is not enough sometimes for all the rooms, and it's easy to forget room keys.

We stayed in two different rooms, and they were both clean and comfortable. The second room, with the bathroom in the room, was much more convenient. But overall a nice experience.

This place is a hostel that has private rooms. The bed was very comfortable and clean. Bathrooms clean. Large choice of different options for staying to match price points. The guest are nice. The hotel staff helps backpackers and people from far away arrange site seeing adventures. Hotel is decorated in lots of colors?

This place is a nice basic hotel conveniently located in the middle of Anchorage. Easy to get to from the airport and not far from pretty much anything in the Anchorage area. Our room was just what we were looking for: clean, a comfortable bed, good shower. The common area and kitchen area were great as well. We sat out on the back patio enjoying a beer at the end of the day talking with some other guests. The one somewhat unpleasant aspect of our stay was the owner. She isn't the greatest with customer service. That being s... read more

This hotel has a great deal of uniqueness and charm. The rates are very reasonable, the rooms comfortable, and the staff professional and friendly. The combo of price and other factors makes this a great value. It is also centrally located. I was extremely happy with the Russian Delicatessenbad cross the street. The hotel itself has a very artsy and eclectic feel to it. If you are tired of cookie cutter hotel chains, and want something different and special, this could be the place for you. It was for me.
