RecommendedGather an understanding of what the miners did and went through to get gold and other minerals out of the ground for our use.
RecommendedOur guide actually worked the mine. Shared his knowledge of hard rock mining. Back in mid 60's made $2.55 an hour, more than a school teacher. Bonuses per addt'l 100 ft depths beyond 8 hr shift expectations made very motivated miners. Very interesting tour.
RecommendedVery cool to ride a mine train down into an underground mine and see examples of some of the workings, etc. Our guide was clearly experienced and knowledgeable but he spent lot of time “off script.” Do go to Bisbee without visiting this.
