Emergency room staff is hit and miss. I spent 10 hours crying and puking while having a mental break down. The migraine I had was so painful my only option was, to lay on a dirty bathroom floor. Just to get some relief. Only few minutes at a time.
If you’re struggling with mental illness, do yourself a favor and get referred to someone in Edmonton or Calgary (get a doctor referral don’t go to the emergency there). The psychiatrists here have the same mentality as Ignaz Semmelweis’ peers (‘we are doctors we don’t do harm, how dare you tell me to wash my hands’).
