Quail Ridge rules!! As a recent transplant to the Triangle I just had to express my eternal gratitude for this gem of a bookstore in Raleigh. Run by charming local owners Nancy and Jim Olson, super manager Sarah and a dedicated staff of true readers, Quail Ridge is an oasis of culture, near-nightly and world-class author events, book clubs for every reader's taste, the most beautiful greeting cards I've found anywhere in North Carolina, and amusing book related gifts. Their children's section is a dream, with experts like a ... read more

What a great asset to the area I have never been in a bookstore that can match QR. The staff get to know you and what you like and give great book recommendations. They were one of the first stores in the area to give author readings and are very supportive of writers, especially local writers and poets who would not be given the time of day in a big box store. Their community appreciates this and even nationally they have gotten quite a reputation. A few years ago Publishers Weekly named them the best independent bookstore ... read more

Like book readings? Quail Ridge books is a great local book store. In addition to having the typical bookstore fare they also host book readings by local authors somewhat frequently. Youc an get a chance to meet the author, get your book signed, and connect with someone who is writing who lives in the area. the staff is alwys friendl;y and you can sometimes find a great deal on a greta book.

My Second Home Quail Ridge Books is my home away from home, and the destination for book lovers in the Triangle. I think of the staff as personal friends. Sara, the manager, is the most professional and knowledgeable bookseller I've met. The author events the store hosts have put Raleigh on the literary map. Bestselling authors, ex-presidents and vice-presidents, and writers in every category from cooking to poetry make the trek yearly to Quail Ridge Books. This bookstore is a rare jewel. Raleigh is so lucky to have it.

World Class Bookstore, World Class Staff As the author of 16 published novels, I have signed books and bought books all over the country for the past 18 years. Quail Ridge Books is in a class by itself. The staff's knowledge of books and publishing, their emphasis on community service, and their genuine love of music and the written word is unparalelled. Although I live in Atlanta, whenever I travel to or through Raleigh, QRB is always a must-stop. I only wish Atlanta had a store half as good as QRB.

My favorite place In all Raleigh, there is no place I'd rather visit than Quail Ridge Books. I always feel welcome, in person or on the phone. The staff is always unobtrusively obliging, pleasant and immensely informed. And the in-store author and other events are always worthwhile. I just don't know how QRB could be any better. I love it dearly. Ann Berry

the events are wonderful I love all the events Qualridge sponsors. Paula Deens was there earlier, and they love having southern writers like Sue Monk Kidd and Pamela Duncan visit. My favorite, though, is the Harry Potter Parties. Ain't nobody don't like celebrating the release of a new Harry Potter at the Quailridge.

Seriously Misguided Quail Ridge Books is recognized not only by its customers but by others throughout the United States as one of the finest bookstores in the country. I have been going to this store practically since it opened and have found the staff always to be helpful but certainly not pushy, and the manager, Sarah Goddin, is one of the most accomplished managers an employer could hope to find. As to the choice of reading, I can say that the store offers only the finest in books and CDs. The store always has displays o... read more

I couldn't disagree more with your review! This is the best bookstore I have ever visited and I've visited bookstores all over the world. Sara is one of the best managers - I've worked with her years ago and never once heard her mistreat anyone. I've never experienced anyone stalking me in this store or following me around asking me if I need help. You couldn't be any more wrong about your review of this store. It is my favorite and I've spent many hours in it. I've never found the prices to be different here than any other ... read more
