I am currently sitting outside the Emergency Department and they are refusing to provide medical care to me because they can not move on from a simple question. The nurse has asked me 4 times if I have had neurafen or panadol. I have told her I have had Heron and that is all I know it as. We can not move in from this simple error due to the nurses lack of engkish and lack of support should any of this be too much for them. Waited more than 5 hours at QEII Emergency Department while dealing with severe stomach pain, nausea, and constant vomiting. Despite clearly being in distress, I didn’t receive proper assessment or even basic pain relief. I ended up leaving still in pain, only to be diagnosed with kidney stone a day later — something that should have been considered given my symptoms. I understand emergency departments get busy, but leaving someone in that condition without treatment or pain management is extremely disappointing.
