Bad service, average food, too expensive – We had heard about this place from few people. So we drove 30 miles to check it out. We ordered thali, chana bhatura, some appetizers and some sweets. Food was expensive for its quantity and taste was average. Chana bhaturas were good but everything else was average. Sweets were not at all good. Service was also terrible. I waited for 10 minutes for ordering an extra bhatura while 2 girls there just kept looking. Even after ordering, girl there kept standing and didn't even go insid... read more
One of the Best in Seattle – Punjab Sweets is some of the best Indian food and vegetarian food I've had. Parotha, Channa Samosa, Bhindi, etc - this is one of the most authentic Indian restaurants you'll find in the Puget Sound. They have a great candy section as well. (which they sell online I believe...). Punjab Sweets I believe has also won many awards for their food as well....
BAD SERVICE, EXPENSIVE. – Bad service, had to wait around the counter for way longer than a reasonable time while another unlucky customer waited behind me in line-- two girls at the counter were too busy talking and going back and forth to the kitchen. They clearly knew their customer service was below par, but they failed to acknowledge the waiting customers or even offer a customery sorry or appologies.
Preets - Uncooked food and food gone bad served – I used to frequent this place and yesterday I took my family from out of town there hoping for a great dinner. Even though I had noticed the fall in standards in the quality of food in the last few visits, I wanted to believe that they were probably those one off days. But yesterdays visit has left a very bad taste in my mouth. The paneer pakoras were uncooked. WE could taste the chickpea four in the pakoras. In the main course, we were actually served food that had gone bad.... read more
They Need to Open in Seattle – I will drive to Punjab Sweets from Bellevue because its better than most if not all Indian Restaurants around because...its fresh and relatively cheap and its simple really, really good. I'm surprised this isn't talked about in the same breath as the best Indian Restaurants in Seattle... Maki Di Roti with Saag is amazing! The Channa Samosa's are awesome. This restaurant would have lines out the door on the Eastside or in Seattle. No question. Definitely worth the travel. They have really good &... read more
There surely is better out there... – This place has raved reviews and they are very proud of the press converage they have received as demonstrated through the press cuttings displayed on the wall but beware... Their somosas are below average. The paneer pokaras and veggie pokoras were very stodgy and may well have been a couple of days old simply reheated in the microwave. C'mon guys - don't think you can run a below par joint now that you have had a handful of good reviews.
best indian food in the country.fresh and tastes like home cooked food.their sweets are also very authentic. great going a must go place to have indian food.
Great Indian Food! – Our friends from Bombay and New Delhi recommend that we eat here saying it was the best Indian food in the area (unless Shavani?s mom is visiting from Bombay). They were right! We?ll often call in an order of the sampler plate of appetizers, a parotha and aloo gobi and take it home. We?ve tried many of the dishes, sometimes with our friends as guides on their favorite dishes and we?ve never been disappointed.
Double whammy. Expensive $$$ for below average food/snacks – I am from Vancouver Canada and was in the area for business. Checked out this place and was totally disappointed. Looks like the very previous review has been written by someone known to the owners. The Samosas that have been praised were really really bad. It is all about filling. That kind of filling is used for Aaloo Tikki and never for samosas. I bet if you ordered Aaloo parantha, you would get the same filling. Besides a couple of their entrees, I also picked ... read more
