UPDATE:I I've consulted with an attorney and this is 100% illegal to do. I have a business and a home with electricity through PSEA. For whatever reason this company is incapable of sending the bill where they go, so today I woke up to my power having been shut off. No warning, literally no bills even sent to my house, and the power is OFF. If someone called or knocked on my door I would have paid it immediately, but no, not even a regular bill was sent to my house. This is absolutely outrageous.
Electrictry is a basic need as a utility, yet the customer cost is above the company's operating cost (old lines and high yearly profits). They are closing many local offices to pay in person, and reinstating additional charges to pay by phone (paperless). This sounds exactly like a for-profit corp. rather than a for-need utility. This is our local electric utility company office so there isn't much to say. Most people hate large institutions. I guess, I understand that, but that doesn't mean they aren't important and don't provide a useful purpose. Although I usually pay my electric bill online, the Company recently "improved" their website, rendering it useless for the purpose of paying one's bill. I have read all the reviews on here and disagree with most of them. I have recieved my bill on time every month and always get charged exactly what was expected. Their staff is always helpful and nice never rude. If you go in angry and talk to people in a mean way they will be rude back. If you go in with an issue and talk to them in a kind adult manner you will get great service every time. I have been using PSE for 7 years and have had no issues. Keep up the good work.
