A light and airy dining room overlooks an open kitchen at Prune, where good American food is served in a charming ambiance. Oysters, gravlax, and deviled eggs are good starters. Popular entrees include braised rabbit legs with carrots and fennel, braised beef short ribs with Yorkshire pudding and grilled rib eye steak with parsley-shallot butter. For dessert, the warm chocolate cake is delicious; try the oranges with vanilla beans, and the unexpected and fantastic butter and sugar sandwiches.

I just finished reading your book, Blood, Bones & Butter and loved it! I can't wait to try your food at Prune when I visit NY. :-)
I had two things that I'll usually order when I see them on a menu, sweetbreads and quail, and both were superb. Each was served with a savory broth rather than a sauce. The texture of the sweetbreads was perfect and the complexity of the broth with the quails made it a very satisfying meal. I'm not, however in love with the small restaurant with a noise level slightly above that of a runway at JFK concept . The desserts were just OK.
