dinner was wonderful – I just love eating here. The chef and his wife took the time to come out and conversate with the patrons. It was adorable. I had the price fix with the lamb and soup. I was so happy, it was cooked beautifully and the sauce was sweet and amazing. My friend had the veal and started with the cosi salad, it was out of this world and it make the most perfect starter. Neither of us are the best with wines, but the chefs wife was so plesent and helped us pick out the nicest wine to go with our meal, and she p... read more

overpriced and uninspired – With so many choices on Smith St, this would not be one I would make again. The chef/owner does not even care about the food. He is a pastry chef! He simply makes the menu sound attractive enough so that people will come in and then end up ordering his pastries. The service is HORRIBLE, and this is coming from a girl who has been a server for years. Some mistakes I can understand, but these people aren't even trying. The menu is overpriced and the food is boring. I ordered the goat cheese omlette,... read more

Never been so insulted, worst chocolate ever – In my first time walking around this beautiful neighborhood I spoted what looks like a nice little French place, it looks cute and peacefull... Until you return a old FLOURLESS HORRIBLE FREEZERBURNED TASTING CHOCOLATE CAKE... And a crazy French woman jumps out of nowhere to tell you that their chocolate is the best in the world because it comes from France, and that your palate is not refined enough to appreciate the horrible old flavor of the cake, Oh!!! to top it, $7 charge fo... read more

Recommended Restaurant – Our family had a lovely brunch here on Father's Day with our 10 month old twin infant daughters. The staff was very accommodating and the weather was beautiful so we ate outdoors in the cafe section. The food was fine and tasty, just like it was on our previous visits. We had the french toast and mushroom omelette, as well as croissants, but there were plenty of other food choices. We recommend this restaurant. There was no service charge. By the time we left (we arrived at opening at around 10am), t... read more

Best French Toast (and other things) – So the title says it all. They have the best french toast I have ever had and that is saying a lot. That is not the only great thing there either. The quiche is fantastic as is the croque-monsieur. When we were there today we had the chocolate ganache, which is the kind of good that makes you close your eyes and just float away. We have been there a few times and it has been great every time. Leslie, the owner, has been wonderful every time we have been so I am not sure what some of the... read more

Best French experience in Brooklyn (and this coming from a Frenchman!) – We just sampled Provence en Boite last week for dinner and as Frenchmen who take their food seriously, give a resounding thumbs up ! The food is authentic and reasonably priced, the welcome akin to a true "village" bistro back home and last but certainly not least, the pastries are phenomenal ! So much so that we went back for Mother's Day and bought a whole assortment to take to our friends' brunch party. Let me be frank and say that discerning New Yor... read more

Love this Place – I have gone to this restaurant many times for both brunch and dinner. Granted, it is very crowded for brunch on the weekends, but it is worth the wait. The "crazy french lady" and her husband/chef are a delight and are always warm and friendly. I have seen them both greeting guests and stopping by tables for a quick chat. The food is always fresh and delicious and the pastry is out of this world. If you're not into waiting, try dinner during the week when its less crowded. Also, very reasonable prices and n... read more

Good pick!!! Yummy pastries – I must admit that when my husband said he wanted to have dinner at Provence en Boite, I was very skeptical after having read the last two comments posted here. Call it old fashion way but there is nothing much I hate that being given an attitude when I am a guest wherever I go... My doubts have started to get dissipated when a broad smile welcome us at the door, sat us right away, take our orders of drinks and brought us some bread and olives to nibble on. We were both in the mood for seafood an... read more

The most disrespectful people on Smith St – With some friends we decided to try this place after reading the review from nicoloco here in Citysearch. Why oh why didn?t we read the other reviews? Now I wish we had. Get this: 4 people ordered nothing more than eggs for a wonderful $84 brunch!!!. Not only the food is overpriced, but apparently, only by sitting down you get a $5 service charge PER PERSON regardless of what you order. Furthermore, if you don?t leave a tip on top of the $5 service charge PER PERSON, the lady patro... read more
