Disappointing experience at Provident. Provident Advertises itself as being experts in treating male sexual assault survivors and having groups for male sexual abuse/ assault survivors,. After speaking an hour with a counselor- I was told that they do not treat sexually abused clients like myself. I was given a listing of other counselors I could call from Provident- none of them would treat male sex abuse survivors either. A waste of time and effort! I called the national suicide hotline and was unfortunately directed here. I talked to a woman who called herself Amanda James for a few minutes. Next thing I new, I was falsely arrested and faced incarceration, abuse, and torture for the next 3 years. I lost everything because of calling this agency for help.

I have had a personally abusive experience as a child with one of the members of Provident (Larry Marshall). As a child Larry insisted that I was a Satan worshiper and forced me to stay in a children’s home for five years until I admitted it even though I wasn’t. The torment and abuse was encouraged among the therapists by Larry. He should be relieved of his position as any type of mental health professional.
