UPMC IS A 3.5 OUT OF 5, BUT TO ME IT IS A 0/5 WORST POSSIBLE EXPERIENCE, LIKE SOME SORT OF A LIVING NIGHTMARE. CANCER CARE AND SURGERY TWICE IN THE PAST 8 YEARS, A TOTAL OF THREE YEARS ON CHEMO, SO I AM MORE THAN AQUAINTED WITH THIS MENACE. I AM A FORMER EMPLOYEE, RN. IT HAS BECOME DIABOLICAL WITH UPMC AS A MEGA PROVIDER. I HAVE FRIENDS THAT WERE PHYSICIAN AND THEY LEFT BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THERE. RecommendedI cannot recommend TraumaSci highly enough. Amazing staff, therapists and doctors. I got so much out of my stay and felt this place and these people really cared about me and my healing. A special shout out to nurses Shannon, Amanda and Tara. And two amazing therapists, Dominique and Pam. Sherri was amazing as a psych tech. Thank you so much to everyone!
ER at UPMC EAST is a disaster waiting to happen. I spent 36 hours in an ER room getting diagnosed from an injury. I am not complaining about the waiting time. With Covid-19 all facilities are jammed to get patients to diagnostic equipment like an MRI. I literally watched a patient die while 3 of the 4 nurses that were to take care of my area or ER rooms practiced being lazy, talkative on a variety of non medical subjects for 36 straight hours. There were more staff than necessary. Really. But, problems arose from not paying ... read more

UPMC did not properly set up the referral for my child's specialist visit and after 5 MONTHS of back and forth with their billing and my insurance trying to find out which hoops to jump through, their billing department fully aware that I have worked continually for months since the very first bill and insurance is slow, sent the bill to collections after assuring me they would not. Incompetent billing is going to hurt my credit and I haven't met a specialist there yet who was worth this kind of effort, not one. Garbage.
