My overall experience at St. Vincent was pretty positive, I suppose. The nurses were nice—I enjoyed talking with them more than the doctors and therapists. Really the only reason I’m bothering to write this is because one doctor dude told me “you’re not depressed, you’re just unhappy with your current circumstances.” Sir, my mind has been an existential hell-scape for as long as I can remember. Had great difficulty getting started & when I finally waa able to get myself there , they told me I couldn't start & they'd get back to me. I'm devastated .if you are depressed & in need of urgent help to save your life , I would not recommend Providence St. VIincent's to anyone . They turned me away while in desperate need. They have no idea how hard this was so they do not understand or have no empathy toward real suffering and mental illness.

I brought my son here after a suicide attempt involving antidepressants and muscle relaxers. Had he not been found in time he would be dead or severely handicapped. His inpatient program sent us here . His doctor was patronizing, challenging, made him cry, which no previous Dr or therapist has done. He left wishing his attempt would have been successful. Thank God there are security measures in place to have patients escorted to and from sessions by parents/guardians, otherwise my child may have jumped off the parking garage... read more
