Last week I was having electrical issues with my car (with the ignition turned off, air flow would still run, the air flow direction button lights would stay on, and on the dash, oil light would flicker and the key ignition light would continuously blink). I chose this place based on the proximity to my home and the reviews. After bringing it in, the shop chalked it up to a bad battery. Straight up reliable, cheap, quality work. – I had been having frequent trouble with my alternator, and knowing that Austin is saturated with auto service shops, the decision was a headache. But once I bit the bullet and took my car into Pro Tech, they got the ball rolling. I left my car there over night and before i even woke up, they were calling me to pick her up. Best Auto Repair in Austin!!!! – I moved here from out of state and was looking for an honest mechanic. Gilbert & Steve are exactly that. I have taken my Chevy Malibu to them for about 2 years now. They have done everything from fixing my wheel ball joint, to oil changes to recently replacing my left front hub assembly. I always get quotes from other mechanics and ProTech's is always the lowest. I am 100% satisfied with the service I have received and always recommend them to friends.

THE BEST AUTO REPAIR PLACE IN AUSTIN – I found Gilbert and Steve at Protech online when I needed them the most. I needed a second opinion and Steve took the time to explain to me what I needed and what he could do for me. I was at another Automotive Repair shop and I left there immediately and went to Protech. Both Steve and Gilbert are great at explaining what needs to be done and what can wait. I feel it's hard to find someone that is so honest with you especially being a woman. Stolen 5000 dollars and misrepresentation – Not trustworthy OR Affordable! I brought Steve 5000 dollars and an example of the motor I wanted. He was told at that point, the TOTAL I can spend on restoring this car was only 10,000 dollars. The engine would NOT take up all of that. His worst complaint was he didn't like the piston brand in my example, which I authorized different brand on the spot. Trustworthy and Affordable – I have taken my vehicles to these fellas for years and have consistantly had a great experience. From excellent customer service (often going above and beyond), to great mechanic work, and (last but certainly not least) doing it all at an affordable price, I recommend ProTech to anyone needing automotive repair and/or maintenance.

Really experienced, friendly and affordable place – I went to Protech for the first time last week for a brake service on my old Subaru Legacy. Steve was really helpful, patient and experienced along with other guys. The place was really simple but it was good. I think i got more service for what i paid. Definitely wood recommend this place to new people.

Great help for your vehicle maintenance – These two guys have been my auto techs for several years and have always done wonderful work for me. Recently, I took a friend to their shop to get some work done. She had not done maintenance on her vehicle in a while. They inspected her vehicle and assisted her in working within her budget to set up a priority list for what to get done as her budget allowed. She now has peace of mind that she has a reliable vehicle and was relieved to get such trustworthy, expert assistance.

This is a great place to bring your car troubles – This is a new automotive shop that i heard about and now this is where I bring all my car problems and maintenance needs. They have fair prices and this is coming from a UT student. They gave me quick and good service that fits my budget. I definitely recommend this place to my friends and people in need of a quality car repair or oil change.
