First off, the surgeons need to be aware of PANDAS and atleast acknowledge that a child has this from a strep infection. After evaluation, I was told that my son only needed his adenoids removed (despite reoccurring strep infections) and his tonsils were small. I was misguided and my son immediately after surgery was positive for strep again. When I called they never sent the adenoids to pathology. But that’s not the first time I was failed. Did not explain monetary breakdown of 5 minute procedure that I didn't even ask for. I'm grateful that the billing staff tried to appeal it for me, but the doctor simply refused. If I would have asked for the procedure or requested them to do whatever needed to be done, wouldn't have mind the billing; but the fact that I got hit with a bill that was never anticipated for a procedure I didn't really ask for, does not feel right.
